Springfield Community Stadium is one of the finest High School facilities in the Mahoning Valley. Our Stadium plays host to close to 50 events each fall. Currently, all levels of Football, including the community youth organization, Lil Tigers, all levels of Soccer, as well as two band shows per home football game take place on our field. Thankfully the 2017 season we did not have to deal with rain conditions that would have affected the field conditions, but with the previous summer's hot and dry conditions the field needed to be watered more than usual. The installation of a turf playing surface inside the stadium would not only save money on maintenance costs but would also allow for all fall & spring sports the ability to practice without causing damage to the field.
The reason for the establishment of this committee is to make people aware of the need for the project, answer any questions that those in the community may have, and convey to you where the funding for the project will come from.
It is the Board’s intent to fund all stadium improvements and or additions with
Permanent Improvement Funds & Private donations.
No Income Tax or General Fund money will be used.
The Turf Project will be all privately funded through our campaign. The committee has set our goal at $750,000.
The Turf Committee THANKS YOU for your support!
