March is here and this month starts off with a bang! Our first SLES Family Literacy night will be Wednesday, March 1. Students in grades K-2 report from 6PM-7PM, and students in grades 3-4 from 7PM-8PM. Looking forward to seeing all of you here.
Interim reports will go out on Friday, March 3 and beginning Tuesday, March 7 our PTO basket raffle will beging at 2:15PM. It will continue on the 8th and the 9th, and end on Friday, March 10 when our winners will be announced from 2PM-3PM!
4th grader Chloe Holt will be representing SLES in the Vindicator Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 11 at Youngstown State University. Good Luck Chloe!
Our book fair will take place Monday, March 13 through Friday, March 17 in the Media Center. On the 15th, we will have our Math-a-Thon kickoff assembly broadcast live over the SmartBoards. On Thursday, March 16 our 2nd graders will be taking a field trip to Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
On Monday, March 27, our grandparent lunches will begin. See the schedule on TigerTalk (Drund). On Tuesday, March 28, SLES will begin our state mandated spring testing with Part 1 of the 3rd grade ELA test. On Wednesday, March 29 our Kindergarten concert will take place at the SLES cafeteria. Mrs. Snyder’s class and Mrs. Thomas’s class will perform at 6PM and Miss Fagnano’s class and Miss Hawkin’s class will perform at 7PM. On Thursday, March 30 the 3rd grade will take Part 2 of the ELA test. As you can see, March is an extremely busy month here at SLES. Our students and staff are working hard and we thank you again for your continued support!
