Updated Information About Blended Learning

Superintendent Yazvac updated families today, (March 20)  and we understand some questions have come up. We'd like to address these questions so everyone is on the same page.

When students finished school on March 13, 2020, they were sent home with two weeks worth of work. This work was to start March 23, 2020, however some students started assignments early, which is fine. Some parents requested more assignments for students, so new packets are being created. Please know that if your student has not started a packet, it's okay, as blended learning officially starts March 23, 2020.

New packets for SLES students can be picked up  Wednesday, March 25 from 8:00-1:00 p.m. The packets will be on each child's desk. Please return the finished packet, if your child has completed the previously sent home packet, when you pick up the new one. If this time does not fit into your schedule, please email Mr. Albanese aalbanese@springfieldlocal.us and another time can be arranged. In regards to any questions about assignments, please email your child’s teacher directly.

Intermediate School students will be able to pick up their packets on Tuesday, March 24 from 9:00-12:00 p.m. If this time is not convenient, please email Mr. Malone dmalone@springfieldlocal.us and he will provide another time for you.  Paper pencil packets are being made available for students who don't have access to technology. Some fifth and sixth grade teachers are still doing paper packets for all students. Packets can be picked up in front of each individual teacher's classroom. Many teachers are using Google Classrooms, and students know if teachers are using Google Classroom. Most seventh and eighth grades classes are using Google Classrooms. Please email teachers directly in regards to questions about assignments and whether assignments are on Google Classroom or packets that need to be picked up.

SLHS work is being done online, please contact teachers via email with any questions regarding assignments. Thanks for your understanding and support! If there is any other assistance needed, please call me.

Sincerely,

Tom Yazvac
